Osho on Philosophy (The Positive Philosophy)

Osho on Philosophy

1.Science grows out of doubt. Religion grows out of wonder. Between the two is philosophy; it has not yet decided -- it goes on hanging between doubt and wonder. Sometimes the philosopher doubts and sometimes the philosopher wonders: he is just in between. If he doubts too much, by and by he becomes a scientist. If he wonders too much, by and by he becomes religious. That's why philosophy is disappearing from the world -- because ninety-nine percent of philosophers have become scientists. And one person -- a Buber somewhere, or a Krishnamurti somewhere, or a Suzuki somewhere -- great minds, great penetrating intellects, they have become religious. Philosophy is almost losing its ground.

2.Beware of getting lost in philosophy and religion if you really want to know what truth is. Beware of being Christian, Hindu, Mohammedan, because they are all ways of being deaf, blind, insensitive.

...oh, personally I shall take heed of your wise counsel. I always figured science to be based on current assumptions and religion to be based on acknowledgment that one exists among others and not in a vacuum.

I would have thought that you will put philosophy in the middle but you concluded by placing it on the extreme of religion. Your initial assertion placed philosophy between religion and science, I do not believe that this is the way you wanted to conclude your argument or is it?

Dr Desh Raj Sirswal # 10. February 2011, 02:23

Sir thanks for your consideration. Actually the mentioned person is a spiritual thinker. They always think that if we want to know the reality you have to go byond the boundation whether it is science, philosophy or religion. Above mentioned thoughts of a thinker. I somewhat agree with these because philosophers in 20th century went to extreme. Some philosopher become highly conscious about science or some religious. They forget the real philosophical spirit because philosophy gives both science and religion, a platform to justify their believes. I dont want to undermine philosophy because when you are a philosopher you have to deal with both for a synthetic view.

Azharudheen.ks # 12. February 2011, 17:23

proceed...

Dr Desh Raj Sirswal # 12. February 2011, 17:35

Philosophy gives you a attitude to dealt with religion and science positively, man become neutral in both sides and inquire rather than faith.

Moefi (mor air fee) # 12. February 2011, 19:10

...I believe philosophy to be the use of reason and argument in seeking the truth as well as knowledge of reality. I mean in studying causes and nature of things as well as principles governing existence and one ends up being swayed either way, it should NOT mean that you are being scientific or religious. It just means on the issue under discussion, the pendulum had swung that way.

I believe it comes with the territory in the same way as a laborer gets blisters. I mean as a thinker you find yourself swimming against stream, what with majority of people in our midst occupying either camp.

My intention here is not to be defensive but to be realistic.

Dr Desh Raj Sirswal # 13. February 2011, 09:45

You are right Sir. But I myself feel that the popular account for philosophy is ununderstandable by general peoples. In India, mostly time philosophy confused with religion and it get no independent identity. What I said above about philosophy is only realtively with science and religion. Not the what really philosophy, I meant. Philosophy for me is a critical evaluation of ideas and their implication in human life. I usually use when I mean philosophy. Philosophy become relative when it associated with other terms as discussed before.Meta Philosophy must be concentrated while study or discuss. Thanks

Moefi (mor air fee) # 13. February 2011, 12:02

...It has occurred to me that some religions are more of a way of life than a religion. It could be the situation in India and hence the inability to separate religion from philosophy. Under such circumstances, only those that dare question current working assumptions are those that are immune to public opinion and are less likely to contemplate being castigated by society. But then again a greater number of them are living in exile. This would be some of friends who had been friendly to books and knowledge for a considerable time

In the other half of the world philosophy can be easily divorced from religion. Take christianity as an example, there are hundred variations of the same. The African version exist parallel to African ideas and way of life. In seeking the truth, I therefore have to dig deeper, and apply my mind to all that cross my path.

One needs a lot of information and facts to explore working assumptions. This means actual time and money spent seeking knowledge. Giving up is easy but in this quest giving is never an option!

About general people, I am sorry but I don't think philosophy is a general subject. And if one has to influence their way of thinking, one should go an extra mile.

Dr Desh Raj Sirswal # 13. February 2011, 12:30

Thanks SIR. Where from we started this discussion, was a person who talk spirituality than philosophy. Now these days philosophy in India come up with an independent identity by different institutions. We are working for the cause of philosophy, so we have started our initiatives by http://sppish.blogspot.com we are working with several pages linked with it. Kindly see it and send us your suggestions.

Moefi (mor air fee) # 13. February 2011, 13:57

...I stood on the spot; a good spot and I must congratulate you on the initiate, well done!

But as to my making suggestions, I am not entirely sure as to how to proceed because what I saw struck me as an attempt at defining Indian meta philosophy by Indians at an academic level and I am clueless there.

P.S. Thanks for the referral

Dr Desh Raj Sirswal # 13. February 2011, 15:19

Thanks for your visit Sir. Mainly we want to work on applied philosophy, metaphilosophy, positive philosophy, indian pschology and interdisciplinary studies. It is basically indian concentration but have international philosophical approach. We are working for applied aspect of philosophy in students, mass and with academicians as well. Its our wish that we will be able to do according to our intentions, today we need to work on humanities and social sciences.

Moefi (mor air fee) # 13. February 2011, 15:35

...keep up the splendid work and all the best into the future. I have a keen interest and would appreciate if you could keep me informed of the developments.

Good luck on your future endeavors.

Philosophy of Social Change: Need of an Indian Model

Philosophy of Social Change: Need of an Indian Model

Dr Desh Raj Sirswal

Social change is a structural transformation of political, social and economic systems and institutions to create a more equitable and just society and it is a universal phenomenon and it occurs in every society. Technically said that social change refers to an alteration in the social order of a social group or society; a change in the nature, social institutions, social behaviours or social relations of a society. As we know Change is inevitable and it takes place in all fields. The term “social change” is often used to describe variations in, or, modifications of any respect of social process, social patterns, social interaction or social organization. Great thinkers emerged from various societies induce social change in different times.

In our Indian tradition too, we can find a lot of discussion and many thinkers as we are see our historical perspective and also diversity of thoughts in our literature. There are many concepts available for social change. We always discuss about Gandhi, Ambekar, Bhagat Singh, Marx etc. in this respect. But the problem is that they always try to drag the society towards their fundamental aim. If we see our situation we can easily find diverse ideologies with different interest and aims, also its effect to our national integrity and social security. India has seen many reformers from time to time since the Scholastic Period, Bhakti movement to technological movement in present time. Some of them have been from intellectual front and others from religious realm but there is a need of political front too. Which ideology or theory is more relevant in today’s world ?

When we see discussion from political parties about Gandhi, Ambedkar, Bhagat Singh and Marx, it become vain when we see their practical character in our day to day discourse, newspaper etc. The present world has become a global village due to the growth of information technology, but Indian intellectuals are somewhat infant in their side as they are not using their skills to think something better. Intellectuals feel comfortable to get a discussion in seminars; conferences, workshop etc. and nothing produce socially relevant material. So, we need to find a common, universal, integrated philosophy to guide the entire Indian society and global village.

It is true that individual societies might have their own dogmas, which cannot be replaced by another societies thought. But when they interact with a global surface they need to accept the need of an integral theory and practice. How many thinkers become national ideals after independence for youth and new generation? This is a matter of thinking.

In their academic life students are struggling with lots of questions, they might to answer about their future life. Reports on Higher Education performed their duty well but when the time of their implementation come lots of problems come around. It is Integral philosophy envelops multiple endeavors of promoting physical, intellectual, moral spiritual and social values as many thinkers discussed in present time too. For this society must be able to cover the entire human condition and the totality of the human personality. Then the discussion about theories of social comes to its relevance in present time.

Social change is a very basic term and must be assigned further context. It may refer to the notion of social progress or sociocultural evolution; the philosophical idea that society moves forward by dialectical or evolutionary means. It may refer to a paradigmatic change in the socio-economic structure, for instance a shift away from feudalism and towards capitalism. Accordingly it may also refer to social revolution, such as the Communist revolution presented in Marxism, or to other social movements, such as Women's suffrage or the Civil rights movement. Social change may be driven by cultural, religious, economic, scientific or technological forces.

In the West we can find Hegelian, Marxist, Kuhnian, Heraclitan, Daoist (The Chinese philosophical work Dao De Jing) and Resource-based economy(Jacque Fresco's concept of a resource-based economy) models for social change. Now it is time to develop an Indian model of social change which can be helpful to get a integrated conception of social, economical, political and religious progress as our general Indian philosophy want to develop.

Religion Vs Man (The Positive Philosopher)

Religion Vs Man

http://my.opera.com/drsirswal/blog/religion-vs-Man

Thursday, 10. February, 11:21

Friends it is said that RELIGION is for the welfare of man and society. But is it a reality in today’s time ?. Here is picture, made by a student, shows how different religions of the world made man frustrated. Religious consciousness satisfied man in reference to his personal needs, but religion by force harm his internal peace too. Keep thinking while follow some religious order and the way you are following it.

Stone Ed Sober # 11. February 2011, 01:25
The following informational bit is going to sound very arrogant and harsh to many. That is not the intent. It will sound like a complete Lunatic wrote it. And yes. This is true.
I am not here to be a jerk, but to simply share a result of an awakening that is no different than any other. We find ourselves in the end. Please do not judge me but take a good look at the workability of lunacy to stay out of bias opposition. To let go and let the intuition of your inner self be your guide without judging to harsh about personal beliefs.

The nature of semantics in religion are subject for sparks of violence. We all want to feel safe. When folks talk a little crazy, we don't feel safe. Seek safety in the inner voice. Get quiet and trust. The Great Spirit is not all around us to condemn us. We are each a very special development in progress.
Please, if you do not understand the following, Know this;
It is a complete all out attack of any intelligence. Nature of the Beast. Sorry. Do not fear. Time to Rise! Grounded. In our own skin. No Problem. We are of Love.
If you read this crap to follow, go back up to the picture and look at the ? mark on the forehead. 4 religions are around it.
crosses are everywhere. A cross creates four spaces. BREAK DUALITY!!!!! Because we can. All by ourselves and together!
Just keep that in mind. Now please, clear the mind and go slow. SLOW do w n a b it to g e t dumb enough to understand simple rather than complex.

Let us get Stupid;

We can very simply, "Blow the whistle." I said "simply."
Forget about complex. Get to the root. Yes, we are confused.
We can accept that. No problem. We get less confused as we grow.

To get unconfused is by way of a "specific mean." Take all philosophy out of it. Put it in the hands of the "Son of Perdition." Do not fear a thing. No Problem. Only a solution.

Write a problem. Oppose it. Break it into 4 balanced points.
Spin them in New Order.

The sentence;
"Take religious texts and spells to find meaning."

Write it, and break it in half. (Break all rules.)
(3)Take religious texts(3) / (1)and spells to find meaning(1)

Give it direct opposition. As follows;
(2)Give secular acts(2) / (4)but fruits from found demeaning(4

Remove them back together in axiom loop. Last of first sentence goes first. A positive must push a negative. Four parts to quanta. Cross the lines of duality. Break the pentagram to become a window.

1-4 states very clearly:
AND SPELLS TO FIND MEANING, GIVE SECULAR ACTS.
TAKE RELIGIOUS TEXTS BUT FRUITS FROM FOUND DEMEANING.

It is nothing. But the two go hand in hand with everything.

E=Mc2::E=Mc-2+^

Positive and negative ground. And the positive is no longer grave.

Old circuit of duality:
4)+/-(1
3)-/+(2 Polarities must vice verse to loop around any subject.

New Order of Terms:
3)+/+(1
2)-/-(4 If must vice verse, sends into spin.

(Positive rises above ground.)
This is not about words. Actions are happening regardless of our text books. They get writ through wrought experience.

The will of the father is who's will we do. God's will be done.
The difference between that is not even a decision any longer.

Promoted by the shift of cosmic polarity sequence. The positive surely shall rise. As the schematic surely shows.

Very Devilish all throughout. Do not be deceived by true values. Found in the demeaning of our futile lives that led to a grave effect. Positively they will be charged through the negative ground to remain never-ending dead. Gratefully so with vibrant skin. Dead as nails yet in an earthly heavenly paradise. Not Religious terms, The Devil is Boss Universal. Big Whoop. We will run with freedom in the wind. Forever.

Religious terms are for those who need something to rely upon because we did not yet know.

This is 2011. We can wake up without blaming the hard facts of HELL! Either continue the old ways of duality or make a change.

3)God / is Love(1
2)Devil / is not hate(4

IS LOVE, DEVIL. GOD IS NOT HATE.

Either way, we ALL win.

3)Who / wins?(1
2)Who / loses?(4
Wins? Who.
Who loses?

3)Who gives / a crap?(1
2)Who takes / a piss?(4
A CRAP? WHO TAKES.
WHO GIVES A PISS?

Who / is Religion?

I guess secular acts will tell the ultimate truth all day long.

Can't lie to the kids these days. They tell on the lie. Can't pull the wool over eyes that see.

Religious Cancer. Who cures all disease? Naturally. Not me.

The Sun will emit those powers and we will receive them. And we will act our way into eternity. And if we die along the way, Thank God! Because a blink of an eye and we come back together. The "living" do not know. Until an appointed time.

Fall on the rock into many pieces or let it crush you, either way, we win. I mean lose. Forever.

Without the technology to support it, the Devil's work was not complete. There is a mechanical feature to this machine.

That takes an industrial revolution, the splitting of atoms and the blood stained robe to keep us grounded and free. Sorry. Blame your father. The liar. Mother does not lie. Take a good look around. It is not lying by any measure of workability. Balanced perfectly all day long. Conditions are resultant to every spell.

This is not for me. Not my fault. Nothing to fear. Nothing lasts forever. And it will. Positively.

Do what you want! Enjoy the results!

To forgive is to look past. Current situations can trigger ideas of looking elsewhere but our own two feet.

The true making of a living legend. You. Us. Them. We.
Separate but Together.

Stone Ed Sober # 11. February 2011, 21:13
Yeah! So far, I haven't found the "off" button for the "thinker!"

I am enjoying your page. I am about to read one of your writings about positivity!

I come from a background that lacks "discipline."

Religion and Man topic has become an issue with me; to allow God to be my employer and disciplinarian.

In order to get to a place where there is what is known as "responsibility," I think it will be nice to follow you around a bit to get great ideas to think about. (Don't worry, I won't follow too close!) I'm signed up to quite a few social networks, keeping connected through them, I find there are a lot of really cool human beings running all over this green earth! Haha!

Good to meet you Dr. Desh Raj Sirswal.

Keep keeping on Top!
Dr Desh Raj Sirswal # 12. February 2011, 02:20
You are right SIR. Discussion should be there. These ideas always strike in my mind and started thinking upon it. Being a student of philosophy of religion, these come to our class daily, we discuss and found that it should be treated positively. I am also working on different pages full articles etc are there. I also need some intellectual who regularly discuss and reflect with us. Kindly visit at http://drsirswal.webs.com if you have some time. Keep in touch and keep thinking
Stone Ed Sober # 14. February 2011, 05:02
Cool page. See you around the cyber universe! It will be fun to see how paths cross in this new realm. How might it affect us positively as a whole? Think. Think. Think. One day at a time.
Dr Desh Raj Sirswal # 14. February 2011, 05:14
Thanks for your visit to my page. I will try to do my best what I think. Keep thinking and be in touch. Have a nice day.

Dare to Dream...

You may get a lot of negative feedback from others, and so much happens in life to block the road you wish to travel. But you must dream anyway and cherish your dreams as they come from your soul and are the blueprint of who you are. What's more, they represent the direction you should take on earth. Let your heart set your goals and remain dedicated to them.

LOVE: BEYOND FEELING

The Moon has become a dancer at the festival of LOVE. This dance of light, this sacred blessing, this divine LOVE. beckons u to a world beyond Only Lovers can see...... And only a Lover can enjoy it, with great pleasure. Source: Osho Times(20-05-2002)

What is real Love?

Ek Chidiya ko ek safed Gulab se pyar ho gaya. Usne Gulab se apne pyar ka izhar kiya. Gulab ne jawab diya k, jis din main lal ho jaunga, us din tum se pyar karunga. Jawab sunke Chidiya Gulab ke, aas pas kanto me lotne lagi or uske khoon se, Gulab lal ho gaya. Ye dekh gulab ne bhi, us se kaha ki wo us se pyar karta h. Par tab tak, Chidiya mar chuki thi. DONT PUT CONDITIONS IN LOVE. ACCEPT IT IN ITSELF TRUE.

Leave Some Mark Behind

Get up and set your shoulder to the week-how long is this life for? As you have come into this world leave some mark behind: otherwise where is the difference between you and the trees and the stones ? (Swami Vivekanand in WISDOM, January 2004, p.73)

And Miles to Go

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

-Robert Frost

Heaven of Freedom

Today is Republic Day in India. On this occassion one poem is posted here.

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held: Where knowledge is free: Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic wall: Where words come out from the depth of truth: Where tireless striving stretches its arms toward perfection. Where clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary sand of dead habit: Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action- Into that heaven of freedom, my father, let my country awake. (Rabindranath Tagore)

Value of Happiness

Sunday, 30. January, 17:14

Man always thinks about happiness and it can be possible with self-satisfaction. When man gets a mental state of completeness, then he will be empowered with happiness. So try always to be complete in all respect whether it will be physical, mental, spiritual, religion or social.

Love is a matter of GIVE and TAKE and reciprocities in all its ramification. Both parties must submit the indeed passion to love each other unlopsided. Whereby one party failed to exhibit the average required love to uphold the conjugal status, such marriage will be selfish, unconcerned and inhospitable. To be successful in Marriage. The parents of both parties must be happy and readily undo any grudge probably on ground seeing themselves as one flesh
